I am back! It's been awhile...and I have some news!
Golly, Miss Molly!
I feel like I have been living in a cave! An amazing cave, but a cave, none the less. I am finally stretching my legs and taking a walk outside.
So let's catch up...
Mr. Feef's started Kindergarten! I was an emotional mess, but it has been good for both of us. Little Miss turned one in December, yet another hot mess moment. Two milestones in one year. Woah.
As if those two things weren't enough to keep me busy! I decided to take a leap of faith and start my very own, eco-friendly, online boutique CoralFeather!!
Why in the hell did I decide to add this to my plate?! Oh, because I like to live on the edge! Actually, this was bound to happen, it was just a matter of when. When is now!
After I had Mr. Feef's, I knew that I needed to research more, and get informed. Then, after Little Miss, I went into overdrive.
I attended MommyCon in Austin and fell in love. I fell in love with new parenting styles, new products, and most importantly, the community. I didn't feel an ounce of Mom-Shaming and ya'll already know that is my biggest pet-peeve. I went home and told the Husband all about it. He knew I had found my passion and encouraged me to find a way to channel it.
The products I saw were not your typical finds you would get at a big box store. The companies went a step further than most by being extremely eco-friendly! This meant they weren't just safe to have around the house. These products were safe for the environment as well! WIN-WIN. Why aren't more companies taking this approach? I am going to go with cost. Which is really sad. How can you put a cost on sustainability, fair-trade, and the affects of global warming?
This is where my passion has led me. I want to recreate the feeling I had from being at MommyCon. We are working with companies that align with our mission to provide products that are sustainably beautiful, socially responsible, and simply practical.
What does that mean?
It means our products are beautifully made from quality materials. From production to elimination, they are safe for our families and the environment. We feel that it is our responsibility to communicate with the manufacturers to ensure their employees are given a fair wage and safe working environment. At the end of the day, we want to encourage our family and friends to consume responsibly. It is so important to purchase high-quality products that will last. This will not only save money but decrease the amount of waste going into our landfills. I wanted to start an online boutique to spread awareness not to get rich and push as many products as possible.
I am just a southern Mama trying to make the world a better place for my littles! Who is with me?!
